Lets get a thread going here. Who has the advantage now that we are at 43ft instead of 40ft, the pitcher or the batter and why?

Not sure about advantage. But I do know that the ball is at its fastest as it leaves the pitcher's hand, and decelerates from there. In order to increase in speed, something would need to be applying force to it.

The advantage goes to the hitters especially good hitters. Moving the pitchers to 43' will also weed out those without movement on their ball. High School ball will be effected more than travel ball.

The pitcher will have 3 more feet for the ball to move, so those batters who move up in the box to take the break away from the pitch will now have to adjust to breaking pitches, only if the pitcher has good stuff. Thats one advantage for the pitcher JMO.

I heard from various people that the purpose for moving back to 43' was to increase offense. Based on that statement, I would presume the advantage is shifting towards hitters. I read somewhere that Florida experimented with this last year in high school and runs per game went up by more than a run.
