What is the best bat to use in cold weather without fear of ruining the bat?

None. The best thing to do is keep bat as warm as possible by rubbing, or in front of team heater while waiting to bat in the dug out.

We play inside a partial heated Dome in the winter in MN and it can be close to freezing at game time. Dugout heaters aren't allowed. There is a bat warmer with microwave packs that sells for about $40 online. This is legal for USSSA, NSA but not for ASA NFHS NCAA
As a cheap version, buy a 2 lb bag of rice throw it in a long sock, tie the end. Microwave for about 5 minutes before leaving for the game and it will stay warm for a few hours.
I would recommend having an aluminum bat for cold weather and not using your composite unless you can keep it warm. Body heat does work as well but it's tough to get it warm in time if your first up when you come back from defense.
