New discussion just for fun and information. How many girls in Alabama sign with a D-I program each year? How many pitchers? Just for fun speculation, how many 99 pitchers do you think will sign D-I? I now there are lots of outs to each question, but hopefully we will just see specific answers. It would be nice to track this from 2000-in my case 2017.

Finally, we agree on something. FYI Wikipedia defines - "An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site." Looks like I am at the right place.

I am ready for the season to begin. In the words of the King himself, "A little less conversation, a little more action."
Thank you....thank you very much.

I took a stab at it, although my methods are crude. 410 Alabama High Schools with varsity softball programs assuming an average of 4 seniors per school per year=1640 seniors
88 Alabama girls playing DI in Alabama(I used only Alabama DI programs so I could define the group easier) also I find it interesting that 19 of the 88 play at UAB.
If I divide 88 by 4 (four years of school)=22/year
22/1640 = .013 or 1.3% of Alabama High School softball players make a DI roster in-state.
Also, of the 9 DI softball programs in the state they have a totatl roster of 168 players of which(as previously stated)88 are in-state kids. This equals 52.3% of in-state DI rosters are made up of Alabama kids unless you take UAB out of the equation and it drops to 46%
What I take from all of this is the DI programs in-state are doing a good job filling rosters with in-state kids and thank goodness for UAB(19 of thier 20 players are from Alabam).
Mississippi State was not factored in but they have 4 Alabama girls on roster.
