When my daughters team moved to 10u we were playing 97,98 players in our first Fall season(we were a 99 1st year team). We took our beatings with pride and worked very hard to get better as a team. And boy did they get better.I myself am very glad my daughter played up with older girls,She is a much better ball player because of it. I don't have a problem with the split gold/silver stuff or the no 00/98 pitching or catching in 10u&12u but I don't see where it is a benefit to the girls.Just my 2 cents.

We sould have a split season with the 8u's to get them ready for the next year. Then it would not be as big of a shock for them.

I don't see the benefit at all, you can teach the rules in practice and there is no getting around the speed you will have to face it so why keep the girls in a bubble?

This was are frist year in 10u.The frist part of the year we started in silver then toward the end we played more 99's then 00's so it has it's way of working itself out .But we played anyone that was put in front of us and did not back down are change tournaments if they did not offer a silver side. I would say it helped in the long run.
